IRVINE, Orange County - Pasadena policeman raided a few apartments in Pasadena and Irvine on Dec. 16. Several prostitutes have been arrested. Police also found $10,000 in cash, jewelry and three cars. The four women have been charged with misdemeanor prostitution.
Temple City man and woman, Thanh Ly and Li Chen, have been arrested on operating millions of dollar prostitution business from upscale apartments in Irvine and Pasadena. Both of them have been charged with felony pimping and pandering.
California Penal Code Section 647(b) Prostitution and Solicitation, it includes solicitation, or exchanging sexual services for money. The penalties for prostitution and solicitation are severe, depending on the circumstances of the charge. It can carry harsh punishment, including jail time, probation and fines. If any of the four women is found to have two to three prior prostitution offenses, and were found guilty, they could possibly face up at least 90 days in the County Jail.
